Hiring our Facilities

Hall set up for a wedding afternoon tea

We have excellent facilities, which are in demand. Our Hall and Lounge are available to hire. This is the feedback we get:

Hall

Our domestic hire charges are £15 per hour for the Hall. The domestic rate is for children's birthday parties, christening parties, wedding parties, family celebrations and community groups. 

For use of the Hall primarily for commercial or public sector purposes, the rate is £25 per hour and included setting up, packing away, opening and locking and the cost of a caretaker. This fee is negotiable
 for regular bookings where keys can be provided and setting up and packing away is done by the hirer. 

Hiring the
Hall includes full access to:

  • Five toilets (women, men x 2, disabled x 2) including two sets of baby changing facilities
  • Kitchen (instant hot water urn, tea pots, cups, plates, glasses, cutlery, fridge, hot cupboard)
  • Car Park (23 marked car parking spaces but with space fore more care than that. There is also plenty of free street parking available along the side of the Churchyard on Meadows Avenue)
  • 90 foldable chairs (stored on two trolleys)
  • 12 large tables
  • 8 small tables
  • 5 coffee tables
  • 9 sofas

For a small additional charge we also have an audio visual system which can be used by prior arrangement and training. This includes a radio microphone, digital ceiling mounted projector and wall mounted screen and amplification to play videos and music.


Lounge

Hiring the Lounge includes access to:

  • Five toilets (women, men x 2, disabled x 2) including two sets of baby changing facilities
  • Kitchenette (kettle, tea pots, cups, plates, glasses, cutlery, fridge)
  • Car Park (30 car parking spaces with plenty of free street parking available along the side of the Churchyard on Meadows Avenue)
  • 16 study, padded chairs
  • 1 large farmhouse tables
  • Further fold-up tables as needed

A hire agreement is needed before a booking is active. This includes ensuring Safeguarding provision is in place.


Catering

Many groups hiring the facilities find using outside caterers to be convenient. Here are that others have used:

Here at Christ Church we're very happy for those hiring the hall to bring in outside caterers. Alternatively, we can assist you. Subject to availability, we can provide a small team to set up tables and chairs, serve tea and coffee, and prepare and replenish a simple buffet consisting of sandwiches, crisps and other nibbles, and cake. The advantage of this is our small team will handle everything for you.
