How to give
Christ Church Thornton relies entirely on donations from church members, visitors, grants and fees.
Giving at Church
In person at Church, donations can be given during worship services using cash or cheque. Or monies can be handed in at the Church Office, situated in the main corridor connecting the Church and the Hall. If you would like to give regularly, giving envelopes are available. These are small brown envelopes which are dated, and help plan giving in advance. Please contact us to request a set of envelopes. We also have the facility for contactless giving when visiting Church. Using your contactless debit/credit card, a donation of either £3, £5 or £10 can be made. The contactless machine can be found on the Welcome Desk in the corridor between the Hall and the Church.
If you feel you can and would like to give to the ministry and mission of Christ Church but you'd rather do it online, either for ease or because you're not able to get to Church, you can do so in three ways:
If you are a UK tax payer, Christ Church as a registered charity can claim Gift Aid on your donation. This adds 25 pence to every pound you give, at no extra cost to you - provided you pay the same amount or more of UK Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax. All charities and CASCs claim on a donor’s gifts in a tax year and the donor is responsible to pay any difference.
When giving online or through text message giving, you will be asked if you would like to Gift Aid your donation.
If you are sending a cheque or giving cash or using giving envelopes, and you would like to Gift Aid your amount, a declaration from you is needed. You can either make declaration for a single donation or for multiple donations. Please click the links below the download the relevant form. Please return this to the Church Office once complete. For more information on Gift Aid, please click here to visit the government information.
If you would like to speak to a member of the Finance Team to discuss one-off or regular giving, please make contact.
